The Supreme Court of Lithuania (SCL) has published the latest case law bulletin No. 63, which summarizes the most relevant case law of the SCL for January–June 2025. It should be noted that among the most important rulings included in the bulletin was an administrative offense case, examined in accordance with the request prepared by our firm’s lawyers to resume the process, in which administrative liability was applied to the head of the administrator of common-use facilities of an apartment building (2025-03-04 cassation ruling No. 2aT-11-813/2025). The SCL agreed with the arguments presented by the applicant’s representative and partially satisfied the submitted request: the applicant’s actions were reclassified as a milder administrative offense, and instead of a fine, a milder penalty was imposed – a warning. We are pleased that in this case we managed not only to achieve a favorable result for the client, but also to contribute to the formation of relevant case law. This once again confirms that legal issues raised consistently and with good reasoning can be of importance not only in a specific case, but also for the broader interpretation and application of law.
The electronic version of the bulletin is available on the SCL website and is distributed free of charge. You can read the publication here.
